About the Role
Marriott's Medical Practices has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated Healthcare Assistant to join our excellent practice team working at both Bacon Road Medical Centre and Taverham Surgery on a full-time basis, but part time and job share will be considered.
- Health checks.
- ECG recording.
- Phlebotomy.
- Chaperoning duties.
- Processing and management of laboratory samples requested by GPs/nurses.
- Sterilising, cleansing and maintenance of surgical equipment.
- Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording.
- Surgery equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation.
- Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms.
- Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations and other clinics.
- Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients’ health and well-being.
- Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual.
- Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted.
- Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and wellbeing.
About the Candidate
We are looking for a proactive and well organised person, ideally with previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant or as a phlebotomist in general practice.
You will have the following skills and qualifications:- Successful completion of the Care Certificate, or willingness to undertake, as indicated by the CQC;
- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care, or equivalent.
- Ideally a qualification in phlebotomy/venepuncture.
- Strong clinical skills.
- Confidence and competence in all HCA duties required for the post;
- Experience within primary care or another healthcare setting;
- Excellent patient-facing communication and interpersonal skills;
- Consistently confidential manner, as well as a compassionate and respectful approach, placing a high value on the dignity of patients, relatives, carers and colleagues; Ability to work independently and determine own workload priorities, as well as working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
