Healthcare Assistant - Pre-Op | Northern Care Alliance Nhs Foundation Trust

To assist the healthcare practitioner to carry out routine health related activities to ensure patient focused care, facilitating patient enablement and independence as appropriate.
To provide clinical support as required to help ensure the efficient and effective running of the work area.
To provide excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
Clinical responsibilities
· Complete physiological observations, blood glucose monitoring, urine analysis, swabbing (MRSA, wound etc), height & weight measurements, pregnancy testing.
· Undertake routine assessment tasks related to individuals’ health and wellbeing, making modifications within prescribed parameters and reporting back to Senior Staff on patients’ progress.
· Complete Venepuncture
· Complete ECG recording
· Provide written & verbal lifestyle advice.
· communicate with people in an appropriate manner to ensure level of understanding incorporates preferred ways of communicating, culture and background.
· effectively communicate complex and sensitive information.
· Agree the arrangements for communication with the patient/family/carer, and to document these in accordance with Trust policy and the patients right to confidentiality.
· encourage others to seek advice and solutions.
· Liaise with other clinical Professionals & teams (internal & external) within normal scope of practise
