Healthcare Support Worker

Medacs Healthcare are proud to be working with a leading provider of specialist hospital at home care.

Working in line with the company ethos to deliver excellent care to patients being treated in their own homes rather than a hospital setting, we are currently recruiting experienced community Healthcare Support Workers in the Sheffield area.

The role will involve visiting patients in their own homes under the direction of a qualified healthcare professional. Duties will include:

• Attend 45-minute patient visits.
• Personal care, including support with meals, personal hygiene and ensuring general safety at home.
• Observations and recording in line with the company systems.
• Collect and transport clinical specimens.
• Observe and recording pressure areas and skin integrity. Recording and highlighting concerns to the clinical lead.
• Provide additional support with training if required.

Qualifications and experience

• NVQ Level 2 / 3 or equivalent
• Experience in a similar role and confidence to work independently in the community.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with patients.
• This is a mobile role so a full driving licence, relevant insurance and access to a car is essential.
