Key Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently transport goods and/or materials using HGV Class 1 vehicles according to local regulations and client requirements.
- Carry out pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness, identifying and reporting any defects promptly.
- Adhere to company and industry guidelines strictly to maintain high standards of health and safety.
- Follow delivery schedules and routes accurately, making on-time deliveries to designated locations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by maintaining a professional and courteous attitude towards clients and colleagues.
- Ensure accurate completion of all paperwork, including delivery notes, logbooks, and timesheets.
- Handle loading and unloading of goods, ensuring proper securing and safe handling techniques are applied.
- Communicate effectively with the transport team, reporting any delays, incidents, or issues that may impact delivery schedules or client satisfaction.
Qualifications Required:
- Valid HGV Class 1 license, with CPC and Digi-Tacho card.
- Proven experience working as an HGV Class 1 Driver, ideally within a similar industry.
- Excellent driving skills with the ability to maneuver vehicles through various road and traffic conditions.
- Sound knowledge of UK road traffic regulations and transport legislation.
- Strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in completing all necessary paperwork.
- Demonstrated commitment to health and safety, adhering to guidelines and maintaining a safe working environment.
- Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and clients.
- Physically fit, with the ability to load and unload goods as required.
Our client offers competitive pay rates, with a range of £15.00 to £16.00 per hour depending on experience and working hours.
