Hgv Workshop Technician

About the role

Due to continued growth from one of our logistics and recovery clients, we are looking to recruit an experienced and highly motivated HGV Workshop Technician to join our team based at our Tipton Head Office. Our fleet is part of our identity, and we take great pride in its maintenance. As a Workshop Technician, you will be expected to carry out service and repair work on the fleet as well as contribute towards preventative maintenance.

Your role will include, but is not limited to:

• A wide variety of servicing and repair work.
• Contributing towards effective “preventative maintenance.”
• Preparing and submitting vehicles to a standard appropriate for the issuing of an annual test certificate.
• Liaising with parts suppliers to ensure correct parts are issued to complete jobs efficiently and within the required timescale.
• Accurately completing relevant paperwork, including job cards and service sheets, using online systems to the required standard.
• Ensuring ISO & Health and Safety regulations are adhered to at all times.

What you need to succeed

Our client is a family-run business that prides itself on having the latest vehicles and outstanding fleet management. This role is key in sustaining this, therefore the following skills and attributes are required:

• City and Guilds Level 1, 2, and 3 / NVQ Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of HGV workshop experience.
• The ability to work alone and use initiative to find faults.
• A good understanding of HGVs, including diagnostic fault finding.
• HGV Class 2 driver’s license.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise directly with suppliers, drivers, and control.
• General technical ability.
