Hours: 32 hours and 30 minutes per week, term time only. Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm. Salary: Hay 8 (£22,889 - £24,950 per annum). This is a fixed term post until 31st August 2025 subject to a budget and staffing review. Barrs Court Primary School has an exciting opportunity to appoint an enthusiastic and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our highly collaborative and supportive team in Reception. The successful candidate will have a passion for working in the EYFS and be able to establish strong working relationships with staff and pupils alike. We are looking for a candidate to provide support for teaching and learning and other associated activities in Reception. This will also include teaching whole classes under the direction of a teacher, providing general support for whole class teaching, or supporting individuals or small groups of pupils, including children who have SEND. Our successful candidate will: • Have HLTA status or equivalent • have a passion for developing vocabulary and Oracy in the EYFS • have the ability to question/support/challenge children during self-initiated learning • have sound knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and the principles behind it • have secure understanding of assessment, having high expectations of all children and help them to achieve their very best • be able to monitor and evaluate pupils’ responses to planned learning activities, observing and recording • have a secure understanding of synthetic phonics and early mathematics • promote our Barrs Court values and excellent attitudes to learning and behaviour • be a team player, enthusiastic, hardworking, flexible and resilient!
