About the Directorate: Highways Service
The Highways Service plays a crucial role in maintaining one of the Council's most valuable assets, ensuring safe, reliable, and sustainable journeys. Comprising three integrated teams - Asset Management, Traffic Management & Compliance, and Performance, Programme, and Innovation - the Highways Service delivers high-quality and cost-effective solutions for residents, businesses, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage projects within the Highways Service, delegated by senior management.
Lead project teams to deliver savings, better outcomes, and benefit realization.
Navigate complex and challenging scenarios, collaborating with internal teams, local partners, stakeholders, and resident groups.
Exercise excellent judgment, political astuteness, and confidence in advising senior officers.
Oversee key schemes, aiming for excellence in project management.Key Benefits:
