Could you be a Holiday and Events Coordinator?
Sense is looking for a passionate and motivated person to join our team as a Holiday and Events Coordinator.
This is a two year fixed term contract (FTC), working 37.5 hours per week.
As Holiday & Events Coordinator, you will work with two existing coordinators to coordinate and manage Sense’s National Residential Holidays Programme. This is a high-quality project for children, young people, and adults with a complex disabilities, enabling them to have a safe and fun holiday with likeminded peers.
Additionally, you will work across other short break projects within the Operational Programmes team as and when needed, and ensure each project is conducted in a safe and effective manner, in accordance with Sense policies and procedures, and meets measurable outcomes.
You will support 3-4 Sense holidays (up to 18 nights) per year.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinating Sense’s Holidays and Events, taking responsibility for planning, delivery and management of 3-4 short breaks away.
- Coordinating other events within the wider team Operational Programmes team including virtual events, day events and residential breaks.
- Coordinate recruitment and training of holiday makers, volunteers and sessional staff
- Gathering holiday makers information, interests and support needs and ensuring relevant risks are identified, to provide and exciting and safe programme.
- Keeping effective records and data requirements to ensure compliance with GDPR, OFSTED and Sense policies and process.
- Manage sessional staff and volunteers prior to and during the holiday programme providing supervision to ensure a high quality programme
- Use budget and resources effectively, following Sense financial policies and process.
- Contribute to an on-call system.
- The post holder will be required to work weekends and evenings to meet the needs of the service. You will receive time off in lieu for any additional hours and payment for sleep ins.
Ideal Experience:
- Experience of delivering activities to people with complex needs with a range of communication methods.
- Experience of delivering Ofsted or CQC compliant services.
- Experience of putting in place processes and plans to ensure safeguarding of children and delivering excellent quality standards in support planning and risk assessments.
- Experience of recruiting, managing and supporting staff and volunteers providing activities, care and support for children, young people or adults.
- Able to keep accurate and up to date records of all service-related activity and to ensure effective day to day administration of a project or service.
- Demonstrable commitment to equal opportunities and diversity.
- Ability to work flexible hours including regular evenings and weekends.
- Able to travel nationally on a regular basis.
- Full driving licence
