Assignment - 2-3 months

Hours: Mon - Fri, 09:00-17:00, 37.5 per week

Location: Greenwich Borough

Pay: £13.50 + holiday pay - £15.13 per hour or £17.00 via umbrella company

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of individuals facing homelessness? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our client's Greenwich based team as a Homelessness Navigator.

Responsibilities:

As a Homelessness Navigator, you will be responsible for providing tenancy sustainment support to a caseload of 18 clients, shared with another worker, who are living in independent accommodation within the Greenwich Borough. Your primary focus will be on assisting clients with diverse needs, including mental and physical health, substance misuse, offending history, and educational aspirations. The goal is to empower clients to sustain their tenancies successfully and support their transition to other independent accommodations at the end of their stay.

Key Duties:

• Provide personalized support to a caseload of 18 clients, addressing their unique needs and challenges.
• Collaborate with another worker to share responsibilities and ensure comprehensive support.
• Conduct home visits and accompany clients to appointments within the Greenwich Borough.
• Assist clients in moving on to other independent accommodations, fostering self-sufficiency.
• Administer tenancy sustainment support, including addressing mental health, substance misuse, and other complex needs.
• Work from our Charlton office for administrative tasks and spend the majority of your time in the community engaging with clients.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Possess an enhanced adult and child barred list checked DBS issued within the last 12 months or on the update service.
• Previous experience in a support worker role or a similar capacity.
• Strong understanding of homelessness issues and the ability to provide effective support.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients and build positive relationships.
• Flexibility to work both in the community and from home for administrative tasks.
• Compassionate and non-judgmental attitude towards individuals facing diverse challenges.
• Knowledge of mental health, substance misuse, and offending history is desirable.
