Job Summary:
Join us in the mission to prevent homelessness! As a Homelessness and Prevention Officer, you'll be at the forefront of assisting those in need. Your role involves providing housing options, tailored advice, and creating Personal Housing Plans to address underlying issues. Be a crucial part of the team working under legislation like the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 and Housing Act 1996.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct housing need interviews and offer tailored advice.
- Assess homeless applications and manage the Housing Waiting List.
- Coordinate temporary accommodation and liaise with support providers.
- Facilitate alternative accommodation in the Private Rented Sector.
- Collaborate with external agencies for client support.
- Work with partners to resolve housing issues and prevent homelessness.
- Ensure accurate recording of all actions taken.
Requirements:
- Solid understanding of homelessness legislation.
- Previous experience in decision-making for homelessness applications.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex issues in various environments.
- Strong time management skills to meet deadlines.
