Job description

The Role

We care about delivering excellent services to our residents and as such we are looking for capable and ambitious individuals keen to help families and individuals facing homelessness. 

To be successful , you will need to have knowledge of housing legislation, the local and national policy context, welfare reform and statutory instruments relating to homelessness and social inclusion, as well as some experience of partnership working. However, we appreciate that this may be a development opportunity for you, and we will welcome applications from those that do not meet all of the essential criteria but have the ability to develop any gaps in knowledge and experience sufficiently.

Our ideal candidate

We are looking for people who  :

  • Have good interpersonal skills
  • Are emotionally mature and confident to work with people facing homelessness for various reasons.
  • Have good and effective listening skills and are able to apply what they hear to the legal framework in which we work.
  • Are organised and proactive in their  work and can keep on top of changing priorities
  • Are proficient with IT systems, ensuring that all client information is logged and updated accurately.
  • Have the ability to think innovatively and creatively and apply effective housing options to prevent and relieve homelessness. 
  • Are able to engage and work collaboratively with families and individuals who require housing assistance
  • Can maintain high levels of good customer care and empathy throughout while working with a diverse and vulnerable client group either face-to-face, on the phone or via email.
  • Are self-motivated and engaged team players

Any other skills

We are also especially interested in your transferable skills in particular, your ability to assess information, problem solve and communicate effectively with applicants, colleagues, and agencies.
