Hospitality Assistant

Chichester College have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Hospitality Assistantat our Chichester campus. You will join us on a full time, permanent basisand in return, we will offer a competitive salary of Pro rata GBP22,079 per annum (i.e. GBP18,257.63).

The Hospitality Assistant role:

Are you looking for that ideal role, working term time only, supporting Lecturers to deliver an outstanding learning experience to our engaged Hospitality students?

As our Hospitality Assistant, you will support our students and staff in the training restaurants and kitchens in the College. Our student training restaurants are open to the public, with Café 19 which offers breakfasts, homemade soup, freshly baked cakes and pastries and more and the fully licensed 64 Restaurant and Bar which offers a seasonal a la carte menu. Duties of the Hospitality Assistant include maintaining the kitchen environment to a high level of cleanliness and supporting safe working practices. You will maintain food safety records, assist with ordering kitchen stock and keeping all areas hygienic and safe.

Key Responsibilities of ourHospitality Assistant:

• Supporting Lecturers and students in a practical hospitality environment.
• Ensuring the cleanliness, quality standards and safety of the work area.
• Ensuring that the teaching environments in designated areas of the Hospitality section are prepared and maintained to a high standard to meet the HSAW and hygiene requirements.
• Collaborating with Lecturers and Assessors and members of the technical staff in undertaking the duties specified.
• Supervising students in the control of food, beverages, resources, linen, cleaning materials and equipment.
• Assisting with the purchase of new small equipment.
• Ddirecting and guiding students in a Realistic Working Environment, specifically in the still room and wash up areas, bar and reception.

Our ideal Hospitality Assistantshould have the below skills and experience:

• Previous hospitality experience
• Knowledge of Food safety standards
• GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C or above
• Time management skills, organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
