Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (37.5 hours per week - working on a rota including evenings and weekends)

Salary: £31,550 per annum

Centrepoint is the UK’s leading youth homelessness charity and now the largest provider of Housing First for young people in England, is looking for Housing First Workersto join our teams based in our London Services.

About us

We help vulnerable young people by giving them the practical and emotional support they need to find a job and live independently. Centrepoint provides homeless young people with accommodation, health support and life skills in order to get them back into education, training and employment. We want to end youth homelessness by 2037.

Together with our partners, we support over 14,000 young people each year.

As a Housing First Worker, you will need to have strong people skills in order to build psychologically informed relationships with young people. You will also need excellent communication, organisational and advocacy skills. We are looking for people with experience of working with young people or adults with multiple and complex needs, preferably in an outreach or floating support capacity.

Successful candidates will need to be prepared to work across our London Services, visiting young people in their homes and communities. In return, you will receive a competitive salary plus excellent benefits.

What you’ll be doing...

  • Visiting young people in their homes and supporting them in their journey, co-producing holistic support interventions and strengths-based risk management plans that promote wellbeing and support young people to achieve positive outcomes
  • Working proactively with young people to sustain their tenancies and prevent homelessness
  • Actively supporting young people to set up their homes, including supporting them with obtaining white goods and furniture
  • Advocating, signposting and referring young people to a range of internal and community resources to support them to develop the skills, resilience and confidence to live happy and successful lives
  • Willingness to work flexibly in accordance with the needs of young people, with some evening and weekend working required
