The role entails:
Assessing homeless applications in line with the Housing Act 1996 Part 7, as amended by the Homeless Reduction Act 2017.
Advising customers on Housing Options, ensuring the Council meets its statutory obligations related to housing advice and homeless services.
Ensuring the Council complies with statutory duties in providing homeless prevention advice within legislative time frames.
Collaborating with clients to prevent homelessness, assisting in retaining existing accommodation or securing alternative housing.
Making determinations and recommendations on homelessness cases in accordance with legislation and relevant case law.
Negotiating with landlords, parents, and various agencies to find optimal housing solutions for clients.
Advising clients on Housing Options such as private rentals, house shares, supported accommodation, or access to the Council's waiting list.
Providing tenancy, rights of occupation, welfare, and benefits advice to maximise clients' chances of retaining or obtaining housing.
The job offers:
Compensation ranging from £24 to £27 per hour, based on experience (paid through one of our Umbrella Companies).
