An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housing Resettlement Officer to join our dedicated team in Bournemouth. This role involves working closely with individuals transitioning from homelessness to sustainable accommodation.
Job Overview:
As a Housing Resettlement Officer, you will play a crucial role in assisting households residing in temporary and supported accommodation to secure appropriate settled homes. Your responsibilities include working with households to find solutions that prevent or relieve homelessness, liaising with housing providers, partners, and landlords/agents, and contributing to ongoing initiatives to attract and retain accommodation options. You will manage the day-to-day support needs of households in precarious housing situations and work towards preventing homelessness.
Key Responsibilities:

• Ability to work locally is a must. At least 4 days a week working locally in the community/office. Applications will not be considered if this is not met.
• To proactively and assertively help clients to fulfil their housing and support plans.
• Ability to work with rough sleepers or former rough sleepers in their own homes or emergency accommodation.
• Ability to work with other partner agencies.
• Support households in emergency and temporary accommodation, facilitating the transition to alternative settled accommodation.
• Swiftly respond to Housing Benefit queries from landlords and applicants.
• Monitor and assist households in temporary accommodation, ensuring timely moves from bed & breakfast.
• Review and assist in Personal Housing Support Plans, making appropriate referrals for additional support services.

Specific Qualifications and Experience:
Knowledge of the Housing Act 1996 (as amended) Part VII and Homelessness Reduction Act.
Personal Qualities & Attributes:

• Effective caseload management and ability to work independently.
• Creative problem-solving skills.

Job Requirements:

• Enhanced Criminal Records Check (DBS).
• Ability to travel within the area and other UK locations as needed.
• Valid UK Driving License

Due to the nature of the service users, you will be working with, you will require an Enhanced DBS for this role. If you have an existing DBS on the update service, this will be beneficial to your application.
The Package
This is a temporary, Housing Resettlement Officer role, 37 hours per week for an initial 3 months, covering the recruitment process for a permanent team member, meaning the role could be extended, or become permanent
