Tate Recruitment is working in partnership with a local authority based in Borehamwood.
This is an exciting role, within a successful and highly driven Housing team, supporting vulnerable individuals into long term housing. The post holder will work with current and former rough sleepers and those who need greater support to maintain stable and secure lives.
The successful candidate will actively engage with private sector landlords, sourcing properties and providing support and guidance to landlords and tenants. Building a rapport with rough sleepers will begin early in the individual's journey by supporting verification and outreach work enabling trust to be built with each person.
A commitment to helping vulnerable individuals and good communication skills to build a rapport with landlords, individuals and partners is key. Supporting individuals with complex needs can be challenging but highly rewarding.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to determine the housing needs and eligibility of clients.
- Develop and implement personalized resettlement plans tailored to each client's needs and circumstances.
- Liaise with landlords, housing associations, and other relevant agencies to secure suitable accommodation for clients.
- Provide advocacy and support services to clients, including assistance with housing applications, budgeting, and life skills development.
- Monitor and evaluate the progress of clients, offering ongoing support and guidance as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of client interactions and progress.
Requirements:
- Degree in social work, psychology, sociology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Previous experience working in housing support, social services, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with clients.
- Knowledge of housing legislation, policies, and procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a compassionate and non-judgmental approach.
