The Housing Solutions Team works within Housing Demand, which is responsible for assisting homeless applicants with their housing options, offering advice, support and information.
This team makes up the frontline of their busy housing service, which deals with customers with a huge variety of housing needs and aspirations. Their aim is to provide excellent customer service and the best advice to each individual. They offer creative Housing Solutions as well as making statutory decisions under the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
In a challenging housing market, their main focus is to help their customers, by preventing and relieving homelessness.
The role is hybrid working at the moment, but this is not guaranteed to be the future pattern.

Housing Solutions Officer (Grade 7-10)
This key role is at the frontline of Ealing’s Housing service. The role is wide and varied and post-holders will provide an excellent customer-focussed service, designed to give helpful but realistic housing options advice and to do casework to resolve housing problems.

Grade 7– the trainee level
The job is about being able to work well with people, get results and provide an excellent customer service. They recognise that these are transferrable skills and that there are people who have them, who would do well in this role. The traineeship lasts for 6 months and provides training in the technical, legal and knowledge.
Grades 8-10
For those with housing or related relevant experience. Although anyone applying for these grades will be given some training, they will be required to already be able carry out duties according to their grade.
Officers will deal directly with customers, create housing plans for them, work with them to solve their housing problems and assess the council’s legal duties to them.
The starting grade will be either grade 8 or grade 9, depending on the level of experience.
Please note, Grade 10 is a restricted grade, restricted to officers appointed to cover extra duties.
