My client based in East England is looking to hire 2 x Housing Support Worker's on a temporary basis until the end of March 2024 with a strong view to extend based on business needs.
As the Housing Support Worker, you will be working in the Outreach Team and supporting vulnerable people to live more independantly in the community. This is a floating role and will require the successful candidate to drive and have access to their own car. Mileage can be claimed at the standard rate for any work related travel when visiting service users.
Role responsibilities for the Support Worker
To interview and assess perspective residents for suitable accommodation. To provide holistic person led support to help residents to sustain a tenancy and achieve greater independence. Communicate effectively with residents via translation services where English is not their first language. To support residents with the transition from homelessness to accommodation To engage effectively with outside agencies for the benefit of the residents you support. To support residents to pursue positive involvement in their communities. To complete all required paperwork and maintain comprehensive electronic information records on the support plans, tenancy agreements and housing management records. To ensure rent, service charges and other monies owed to the provider is collected. To support and assist residents to move in a positive and planned way into permanent accommodation when they are ready to live more independently. To positively represent The housing provider in the community To follow procedures and promote the provider's values. Requirements for the Housing Support Worker
A full driving licence and the use of a car for work purposes is essential Ability to work in a team Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people including non–English speaking residents Experience of working with mental health issues Experience of supporting those with addictions Awareness and / or experience of person led support Awareness and / or experience of delivering a housing management service Ability to effectively maintain comprehensive records and support plans on various IT packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
As the Housing Support Worker, you will need an Enhanced DBS check issued within the last 12 months or on the update service.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
