HR, Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor
£40,000 dependant on experience
North West - Eccles / Bolton
Our client has an exciting opportunity for a skilled HR Advisor with Health and Safety responsibilities to join their growing team in the North West.
They are an AIM-listed company operating commercial and subsidised bus routes for businesses and local authorities. With a turnover of £70m, the national business comprises of 5 companies with approximately 1800 employees across 9 sites in the North West, Midlands and Heathrow.
Job Purpose:
As Group HR Advisor you will become part of a hugely successful UK HR team with responsibility for providing business-focused, commercial HR support. A generalist hands on, multi-site role, supporting, guiding and upskilling line managers in all people related activities. You will be managing the daily transactional elements of HR together with supporting companywide HR projects, including transformation & change programmes.
You will also support and assist the Group Health and Safety Manager with the HSE functions within our Northwest business. This includes working closely with internal stakeholders to maintain and develop safe working practices, employee engagement and environmental commitments. This role also includes the need to effectively communicate with external stakeholders, lead on improvement projects and HSE support for the NW business.
Person Specification:
CIPD Qualification is desirable or studying towardsNEBOSH General Certificate (or working towards)An understanding of ISO 45001/14001A good understanding of current HSE legislationExperienced in developing and supporting line managers through change and best practiceThorough, up-to-date understanding of employment law and ability to action disciplinary procedures where necessaryNegotiation skills at multiple levelsRelationship development abilityExperience of devising and delivering training to both formal groups and the individual coaching of individualsProactive team player with strong problem-solving skillsSelf-motivated and able to work autonomouslyProficient in the use of MS Office including Excel and Word
