HR Reward Officer

Are you a reward focused HR professional looking for a new and exciting permanent role? Would you like to play a key role working for a leading UK university offering hybrid working?

This top 30 UK university was founded over 170 years ago and focuses on innovative education and transformative research. They do this by creating solutions to complex challenges to make a real difference in the world.

Their fantastic and historical campus is in surrey, near Egham and is a 40- minute train journey from central London. The University is currently home to over 12,000 students.

You will be part of a settled, supportive and friendly HR team that offers hybrid working. You will on average need to attend the office 2-days per week, where you will be able to work closely with your HR colleagues and other staff members.

The purpose of this busy HR Reward Officer role paying up to £46,397 per annum is to research, benchmark and review their current reward offering. You will use market data and trends to help create a new and modern offering to all non-academic university staff.

The university also offers some fantastic benefits ranging from a 21.4% pension contribution, flexible working and 27 days annual leave plus up to 6 closure days per year.

The key responsibilities of this HR Reward Officer job include:

• Providing advice and HR support to the university's performance and recognition awards.
• Being the day-to day operational lead on job evaluation and grade checking.
• Supporting the Deputy Head of HR Operations through research and benchmarking/
• Providing advice on additional pay issues, such as Market Supplements.
• Using market data and trends to ensure the university is offering its staff the best rewards possible in line with their competitors and the market.
• Assisting with HR policy and process development
• Managing the Reward and Recognition inboxes, including responding and resolving queries.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a reward focussed HR professional. It would be advantageous to have experience of working in the higher education sector or to have a passion for working in the non-profit sector. The post holder will need to be able to influence others and create a rewards package that will be used across the whole non-academic staff. The position would suit an established HR reward professional or someone ready to make the step up who has had exposure to Reward and benefits. It would also be desirable if the post holder had a CIPD qualification or was currently studying for one.

The HR Reward Officer will need to have strong communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders including end-users, trade unions, management, HR colleagues, and external suppliers.

The interview process will consist of a 1-stage interview process held in person at their campus in Surrey.
