We have an exciting opportunity as we are currently looking to recruit a Health & Safety Trainer, you will play a vital role in fulfilling our vison for a sustainable and profitable future for the maritime sector and for the whole of the UK.


Purpose:


To be responsible for the design, development and delivery of all Health and Safety training programmes in ABP, ensuring that the programmes are in line with ABP policy. Ensure programmes meet IOSH, IEMA and other regulatory bodies’ requirements as appropriate, liaising continually with the Health and Safety function and senior managers. This is a national role delivering of mandatory Health and Safety training across ABP. The role will require traveling across all ABP locations for the training to be a success but will be based out of Hull.


Accountabilities


Responsible for the design, re-design, development and delivery of mandatory Health and Safety Training programmes in line with ABPs training requirements within IOSH Cargo Handling, IOSH Managing Safely, IOSH Safety for Safety Representatives as well as delivering of other ABP Health and Safety courses (non IOSH).

Look to develop new channels of learning and delivery of Health and Safety training including the development of e-learning and continuous improvements within Success Factors.

Ensure all IOSH, IEMA and other regulatory programme requirements are met and relevant documentation is completed.

Establish and maintain working relationships with key Health and Safety stakeholders in all ABP locations.


About you:

To be able to engage users effectively and communicate with clarity. Self-motivate, resilient with excellent time management, organisational and people skills is paramount to achieve outstanding results. Happy to travel and stay overnight as and when required.


Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • At least 3 years Health and Safety experience within the Ports Sector.
  • Nebosh General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Experience of design and development of training programmes.
  • Experience of delivery Health and Safety training programmes
  • Knowledge of developing and supporting e-learning, virtual learning and other media channels.
  • Enthusiasm and adaptability to engage a variety of audiences during training sessions.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Ideal

  • Experience in delivery of IOSH Health and Safety training.
  • Current training and/or teaching qualification.
  • Experience of working within a Learning Management System.
