Our HR & Payroll Assistant is a key member of the 4 strong HR & Payroll service supporting the HR Manager, HR Officer, Payroll Manager and a part time HR & Payroll Assistant. The role advises on HR and Payroll queries to our 225 staff and managers as well as liaison with our external partners (e.g., occupational health and pensions).
No two days are the same, as we respond to staff/manager needs but there are also key deadlines to work within - not least the monthly payroll cut off! You’ll work with the Payroll Manager to process starters and leavers and variations in pay (including overtime and sick pay). You’ll advise managers on recruitment and processes for new starters. You’ll be a good planner and organiser of our job evaluation panels and papers.
We are seeking a strong administrator who enjoys work on systems and excel spreadsheets with attention to detail and accuracy but also meets deadlines. You must also be an excellent team worker who enjoys solving queries and helping advise staff and managers. We are also keen to support personal development towards a payroll qualification.
This is a temporary opportunity as our Payroll Manager is taking Flexible Retirement (reducing her hours of work) and our current HR & Payroll Administrator is being appointed to the vacant Payroll Manager hours. We are unsure of duration but will appoint on a one-year temporary contract initially.
