Outskirts of South Woodham Ferrers, Essex - Own transport is essential due to location of the company

Monday to Friday's - Nights

Salary: 35,000 per annum circa

Permanent position

Key Responsibilities:

• Aid the Technical Manager where possible in the implementation of BRC standards.

• Create and implement hygiene policies to achieve BRC accreditation.

• Create and implement a new cleaning team and procedure for deep cleans after every production.

• To establish, manage and monitor standards, processes, communications, training, and systems.

• To ensure all responsibilities associated with hygiene across the company.

• Attend the management meeting with different line managers across the organisation.

• Pro-actively work with other areas of the business to develop a positive hygiene culture.

• Challenging unsafe behaviours and recognising areas of improvement.

• Carrying out regular audits of the site to ensure compliance.

• Support the business in the implementation of new and existing legislation and internal procedures.

• Ensure the company complies with all relevant hygiene legislation.
• Manage sickness/annual leave/appraisals/training in-house.

Person Specification:

• Have been working in a Managerial position within the last 12 months.
• Have experience working in a food manufacturing environment in the UK in the last 12 months.
• Minimum of 3 years working in a Manufacturing environment.
• Have obtained a Level 2 Food Safety and Hygiene or equivalent qualification or higher.
• Have knowledge of BRCGS or HACCP or hold current equivalent certification.
• Drive and have your own transport.
• Work nights to meet the business requirements.
• Computer literate including Microsoft Excel to an intermediate level.
• Excellent motivator and leader, with good management style to manage multiple teams/supervisors on shift.
• Previous experience managing sickness/annual leave/appraisals/training in-house.
