Location: New Mills, Derbyshire, SK22 3HA
Salary: GBP10.42 per hour (rising to GBP11.44 on 1st April with the NLW increase)
Contract: Permanent
Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday (25 hours per week)
Hours of Work: 5 hours per day (06.00 - 11.00 hours)

Hygiene Operative - The Role

Reporting to the Contract Manager, the Hygiene Operative role is to carry out a variety of cleaning duties for a well-established and renowned confectionery manufacturer in New Mills, Derbyshire. You will form part of an experienced team of 12 personnel ensuring that the premises are maintained to necessary hygiene standards.

Duties are predominantly sweeping, mopping, wall washing, damp-wiping of ledges, etc. in communal, non-production areas along with issuing of PPE from the stores. Some manual handling is also required including the manoeuvring and transporting of large commercial waste bins to the skip area in the yard.

Key responsibilities are to:

• Perform a variety of cleaning and hygiene tasks as detailed within the cleaning instruction procedures.
• Ensure all activities are carried out and signed-off in accordance with hygiene, quality and safety standards.
• Be responsible for ensuring that waste material is correctly disposed of in accordance with the client's environmental systems.
• Be responsible for alerting the Contract Manager to any issues that may impact upon the integrity of cleaning.
• Participate in mandatory site training relating to health & safety, hygiene and environmental issues.

Hygiene Operative - Along with a high standard of work ethics you will also require:

• An enthusiasm for a varied working environment

Previous experience in cleaning and/or a food manufacturing environment is an advantage but not essential as full training will be provided.
