Import Operator

Import Operator Wanted - Immingham

Major Recruitment are currently working in partnership with a leading logistics and shipping company based in Immingham who are looking to expand their team with an experienced Import Operator. This is a permanent role and will be based at their head office site on the outskirts of Scunthorpe.

This role will be a key member of the team and will be responsible for providing top quality services to their customers

Key Responsibilities of an Import Operator:

• Creating Customs entries
• Putting bookings and quotations onto SAP
• Contacting customers for delivery instructions and documentation
• Arranging deliveries through third party hauliers
• Arranging collection of cargo from the terminal/warehouse
• Building customer files using information from SAP
• Obtaining rates from suppliers to create quotations
• Producing discharge lists for terminals
• Liaising with vessels/foreign offices/terminals

The ideal candidate:

• Must have experience within a similar role
• Must be looking for a long term career
• Good communication skills - written/verbal
• Be able to work alone and as part of a team
• Reliable and have good time keeping skills

The successful candidate will gain a permanent contract direct with the company following a successful interview stage. The salary is 25,000- 31,000 depending on experience and will be discussed at interview stage. The working hours for this role are Monday to Friday 9am-17:00pm with a 1 hour lunch break. This will also include the occasional weekend work (approx one in five)

Friday night - late finish

Saturday & Sunday approximately 4 hours each day.
