Job Description
The role sits within the Equalities and Social Justice Branch and the contract will run until December 2024, with the possibility of an extension. Although Edinburgh is the preferred location, Glasgow-based candidates are also encouraged to apply.
The main purpose of the role is to provide professional advice and assistance to Social Justice clients on a wide range of refugee and asylum matters as well as high-profile equality matters. The work is varied, and the successful candidate can expect to advise on social issues such as hate crimes and public order, gender identity and trans issues, food insecurities and women’s rights matters.
To be considered for this role, you should be a qualified solicitor in Scots Law and hold a current practising certificate. The team is open to level of candidates from newly qualified and upwards with strong knowledge and understanding of public and administrative law, along with confidence in working with legislation.
This is a full-time position with a hybrid working policy in place where employees are expected to attend the office at least one day per week.
