This is a new role with the Pimlico Musical Foundation leading their In-School Programme, which forms the core of their work with children in this highly diverse and complex part of London. Can you imagine a more deserving cause?
About us
We are the Pimlico Musical Foundation (PMF), a charity founded in 2015. We provide free musical education to a diverse range of local children, many facing considerable challenges, to help them thrive, and to enhance cohesion in the vibrant community we serve. We provide singing instruction across seven PMF partner schools and have a number of choirs for children and adults which perform locally as well as in other locations, including Westminster Cathedral, Oxford University, Opera Holland Park and the Barbican.

Start date
We are looking for this role to start in September 2024.
In-school programmes
Our expert PMF staff provide bespoke music teaching sessions in PMF partner schools. We currently work with St Vincent de Paul Catholic Primary, St Gabriel's Primary, Millbank Primary Academy, Burdett Coutts Primary, Pimlico Primary and Churchill Gardens Primary to enhance the overall musical offering provided in these schools.
At the heart of our approach to teaching is the belief that musicianship should be taught in parallel with practical singing skills. We find that these teaching formats are particularly helpful in cultivating students' enthusiasm and musical awareness, and allow PMF teachers to collaborate with schools to enhance the existing curriculum. They are not intended to replace the National Curriculum, or substitute for teaching already taking place in schools.
