Inclusion Teaching Assistant required: Engage Education are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join this exciting special school for children with special educational needs in Leeds (LS9). Providing a lasting impact on the academic, and personal, growth of young people, you would be joining a learning environment that is dedicated to collaboration, support and nurture to ensure that every child receives the support they deserve. This is a full-time role which will turn permenant after 12 weeks. It is due to commence as soon as possible (pending background checks).
Your role:
- Collaborate with the class teacher to complement their lesson delivery, providing well-structured, caring support for pupils who may have severe learning difficulties or profound and complex learning and medical needs.
- Make the difference to pupils' lives by assisting in the delivery of work programmes with individual pupils or small groups outside of the classroom, supporting academic learning and boosting academic attainment.
- Take responsibility in securing pupils' physical, emotional wellbeing, whilst raising their self-esteem and encouraging independence as they prepare for adult life.
- Mitigate disruption by maintaining a calm and professional persona at all times to de-escalate any challenges that may arise.
- Forge lasting relationships with staff and pupils to ensure that every pupil receives the best possible mental health support that they deserve to enable them to enjoy a positive, fulfilling school experience.
The successful candidate:
- Will have demonstrable experience of supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health needs and have a desire to make a lasting impact on their lives.
- Will be able to relate well to staff and students and foster strong, communicative relationships.
- Will be ambitious and enthusiastic about personal development, bringing a warm smile every day and having an outgoing, and nurturing personality.
