Hyperion Partners are currently working with a leading housing provider. They're currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Income Officer to join our their dynamic team.
As an Income Officer, you will play a crucial role in managing and maximising rental income, implementing effective arrears management strategies, and fostering positive relationships with their tenants.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee a portfolio of rental properties and ensure timely collection of rental income.
- Develop and implement robust arrears management procedures to minimize rent arrears and financial risks.
- Conduct comprehensive financial assessments of tenants to determine appropriate rent calculations and housing benefit entitlements.
- Collaborate with tenants, providing advice and support on welfare benefits, debt management, and budgeting.
- Proactively engage with tenants, addressing queries and resolving disputes in a professional and timely manner.
- Work closely with housing officers to identify and address tenancy sustainability issues, aiming to prevent rent arrears and eviction.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends, legislation, and best practices related to income management in the housing sector.
- Prepare accurate reports on rental income, arrears levels, and financial performance, presenting findings to management and senior stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role within the housing sector.
- Strong knowledge of rental income optimisation and arrears management.
- Familiarity with welfare benefits, debt management, and budgeting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with tenants and colleagues.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in using relevant software applications and databases.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solution-oriented approach.
