Independent Board Member
Solihull Community Housing
B37 6BX
£4,177 per annum
Closing date: noon, 11 March 2024
Job details
Solihull Community Housing’s Board draws on representation from tenants, councillors and independents, chaired by a further independent member. It’s a collaborative affair, with the members working together to achieve the best for our tenants and customers.
If that resonates with you, we have an opportunity to join our Board team as an independent member. We’re seeking someone from a social housing background, with a strong understanding of housing management, neighbourhood and place-shaping services, with a focus on the customer journey. You could be an experienced Board Member or this could be your first position.
To find out more about the role, please read the recruitment pack below or visit our website. If you have any questions or would like an informal chat, please contact our Company Secretary, Paul Edwards at pauledwards@solihullcommunityhousing.org.uk. Page five of the pack sets out more details about the application process.
Company
At Solihull Community Housing we fulfil multiple roles as an important employer, developer, partner and placeshaper for the region. We have stepped-up in all these roles over the last few years. With increased confidence in our reputation for delivery by our Council partner, we are expanding service provision and growing our asset base for our customers. At the heart of this is our commitment to creating better homes and thriving communities.
We manage nearly 10,000 homes on behalf of Solihull Council. We also manage the housing register and homeless services on behalf of the Council, as well as providing additional services to support people to live independently for longer and to manage their finances effectively.
We work in diverse and vibrant communities and are keen to ensure our Board reflects that. So we would particularly welcome applications from across a range of different perspectives and life experiences. At SCH we are a team which values collaborative working, with good debate that leads to sound decision-making. If this aligns to how you like to work and you want to actively contribute with purpose and impact, do contact us to find out more.
