Independent Chair - Looked After Children

Opus people solutions on behalf of Peterborough City Council have an exciting opportunity for a Idependant Chair to join their team.

Job Title: Independant Chair - Childrens Services, Safeguarding & Quality Assurance
Length of assignment: 3 Months
Hours per week: 37
Hourly rate: 42ph
Location: Based between Sand martin House and Education/conference centre
To chair Child Protection conferences and statutory reviews for Looked After Children in accordance with the Children Act 1989, Independent Reviewing Officer Guidance, requirements of the Children and Adoption Act 2002, Care Planning Regulations, Independent Reviewing Officer Handbook 2010, Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000, Children Act 2004, Working Together 2013; and to develop outcome focused plans.
To chair Children in Care reviews. To implement the guidance from the IRO Handbook statutory guidance for Independent Reviewing Officers and Local Authorities in relation to case management and review for children in care.
To ensure that the quality of casework presented to the service is monitored and that managers at all levels within Childrens Social Care are made aware of any cases that do not meet professional standards.
To maintain effective administrative systems within timescales and to ensure that the records of meetings are of a high standard and accurately reflect the discussion and decision making at those meetings.
