Caritas Futures is supporting well-known charity of Domestic Violence with an experienced Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA) role based in London.

As an IDVA you will provide a high quality, frontline service to victims of Domestic Violence and abuse through ongoing risk assessment, individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.

Duties:

  • Working closely with high-risk victims of Domestic Violence to provide a high-quality independent advocacy and support service
  • Managing caseloads
    Assessing referrals, signposting to additional services, and supporting client
  • Understand legal framework relating to the protection of children and vulnerable adults
  • Providing advocacy, emotional and practical support and information to victims which include legal and civil options, housing, health, and finance.

Essential Requirements:

  • Extensive experience of supporting and advocating on behalf of Domestic Violence victims
  • Ability to crisis manage and work well under pressure
  • Strong organisation and diary management skills
  • Enhanced DBS within the last 12 months
