Independent Registered Nurse required forPrivate home in Essex - Part Time
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our team. This is a unique opportunity working with a fun, bubbly and intelligent young lady in her own home, providing nursing duties and care.
You will be both a nurse and a friend, so ideally looking for a likeminded individual with similar interests.
This job is a rare opportunity to work closely, 1:1 with a client, spending quality time getting to know them, whilst giving you an opportunity to learn, develop and maintain complex clinical skills including receiving specialist training and skills that will enhance your career.
You will be performing nursing duties as well as caring and assisting the client in their every day lives. As the clients conditions are all health related, there will be a good balance between nursing duties and fun activities, such as baking, going out, and watching films.
You will be supporting the client with her daily tasks, whilst administering prescribed medicines in accordance with clients protocol, maintaining accurate records, observing for signs of illness, monitoring for sepsis, as well as performing other nursing duties.
This is an opportunity for you to use your nursing skills and clinical knowledge, whilst having time to get to know the person you are caring for. You will be able to be a nurse that has time for their patient.
Main duties and Responsibilities:
- Undertake medical tasks such as clinical observations, monitoring for any changes in health, signs of sepsis or any infections.
- Administering IV nutrition & medication
- Identify any need for additional treatment in conjunction with GP and hospital teams.
- Accompany to any hospital appointments if on shift, or A&E in an emergency.
- Supporting with other care, including personal care.
- Order and take deliveries of medication
- Taking control of all clinical aspects of the clients health,
- Coordinating and liaising with clients medical professionals
- Clinical decision making
- Supporting and Assisting her with any tasks/hobbies, including accessing social environment

Shifts would be planned with the individuals input, to have flexibility and to ensure a happy working environment and maintain staff reliabilty.
What we are looking for
Essential
- Current valid UK NMC pin, with no restrictions
- Recognised UK nursing qualification
- At least 2 years post registration experience
- Right to live and work in the UK
- Must hold a clean full UK driving license
- Must be willing and able to follow clients policy on illness & work eg. COVID or infections diseases
- Must be willing to do lateral flow tests prior to each visit
- Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Fun and bubbly personality is key to work well with the client and wider care team.
- Able to work quickly and efficiently, sometimes under pressure
- Have a caring and compassionate attitude

Desirable
- Previous experience of complex care for adults and / or children's (A&E, ICU, etc)
- Are attentive, organised and can manage their own workload

You will be working 1:1 with the client for a majority of your role, therefore reliability and consistency is crucial, along with having compassion. You also need to feel comfortable and confident in dealing with any emergencies on your own that may arise, as you will be working alone with the client majority of the time.
