Indirect Tax Manager

iMultiply is working in partnership with a well-known business to recruit an Indirect Tax Manager

The Role 

The position of Indirect Tax Manager would be ideally suited to someone coming from an Accountancy Practice or Inhouse VAT background. The successful candidate will have excellent technical knowledge of VAT.

Day-to-day you will be responsible for;

• Ensure VAT compliance for the group
• Advise departments in relation to specific VAT liability and import/export queries
• Determine appropriate VAT treatment for large capital projects, and agree with HMRC as required
• Ensure timely and accurate submission of VAT returns including annual partial exemption and other adjustments and corrections.
• Review ongoing procedures for compliance and keep up to date with any changes to the regulations
• Coach and develop the teams involved in processing transactions
• Notify HMRC and suppliers of ad-hoc changes: VAT registration/deregistration, option to tax, qualifying use of energy.
• Communication with divisional staff including team leaders, group managers and heads of division
• Liaison with External tax advisors as required.
• Liaison with HMRC
• Advice to Research Operations and on occasion direct correspondence with funders over whether payments are within/outside the scope of VAT.

To be considered for the role you will ideally have;

• Practical VAT experiencex
• Strong excel skills
• Good knowledge of business/non business use and partial exemption
• Effective communicator and strong interpersonal skills
• Proactive and innovative in approach

On Offer 

This Indirect Tax Manager role is offered on a full time, permanent basis with a competitive salary of £50,000 - £55,000 and great benefits package.?The role offers flexible hybrid working.
