Job Description
- Ensuring technical accuracy of worldwide Indirect Tax filings, including those completed by the outsource provider.
- Support and advise on Indirect Tax treatment of transactions.
- Subject matter expert on Indirect Tax matters - resolve queries from finance and business.
- Responsibility for product matrix - ensure all sales are assigned correct VAT codes.
- Identify Indirect Tax changes impacting our business, advising and supporting on all necessary business changes as a consequence.
- Support with regular Indirect Tax training to the team and wider functions.
- Support on all Indirect Tax inquiries from tax authorities.
- Provide insight into Indirect Taxes across the group and drive opportunities to improve cash/value.
- Support on M&A activity from an indirect perspective, including due diligence, structuring, and transitioning new business acquisitions.
The Successful Applicant
- Technically strong and ATT/CTA qualified, with at least 5 years of Indirect Tax experience.
- Experience of preparing Indirect Tax returns either in practice or another in-house role.
- Exposure to VAT/GST systems outside of the UK would be an advantage.
- Strong excel skills and system knowledge.
- Ability to build a strong rapport with members of the Finance Team and the wider business teams.
- Problem-solving skills and excellent attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work under pressure and effectively prioritise to achieve strict deadlines and targets.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Thrives on challenge and accountability.
- Influencing skills to deliver results from colleagues.
