Salary- To develop and implement Care Group data validation process/ systems.
- To collaborate with Directorates to produce and upkeep monitoring information and dashboards. Provide interpretation of data and highlight areas requiring additional management focus.
- To support the group information team in the daily/ weekly/ monthly updating of established information and data validation checks
- To produce and develop relevant timely and accurate information for managers, clinicians and others.
- To develop the use of information and validation to support implementation of clinical and business improvements.
- To deputise for the Data Quality and Information Coordinator during periods of absence.
- The post holder will also work alongside other Group Scheduling roles to maintain robust and compliant 24/7 Junior Doctor Rota cover:
- Implement / maintain complex on call rota’s and ensuring appropriate processes are in place to maintain complaint rotas at all times.
- Building and maintaining good working relationships within the Group and with staff from other directorates which contribute to the delivery of surgical services.
- Providing and maintaining Junior Doctor cover arrangements, including rota changes and ad-hoc enquires as required.
- Manage and find cover for any unallocated support hours and short notice absence.
Routinely update (daily/ weekly/ monthly) existing data reports and circulate as required.
Produce regular data quality reports to drive improvements by the Directorate management teams.
Update patient data and care records on the patient administration system (currently Lorenzo)
Support timely completion of national data set submissions.
Ensure timely processing of Junior Doctors extra duty claims through robust validation of shifts worked
Identify the financial implications of different proposed courses of action to manage rota gaps, and ensure decisions are informed by consideration of the financial viability of each action.
Junior Doctors
Liaise directly with Junior Doctors where required regarding leave, training and duty commitments to ensure planned and appropriate cover for theatres and clinics.
Liaise with Lead Units regarding SPR training days and co-ordinate the impact on rotas, service provision and training.
Organise prospective cover across the Junior Doctor teams as appropriate and respond to ad-hoc sickness by co-ordinating internal cover or using medical agency as a last resort.
Manage situations that may result in unsafe levels of cover affecting emergency medicine and the hospital at night service, by suggesting, coordinating and implementing contingency plans
Overseeing that Junior Doctors are provided with the details for a Return to Work interview after periods of sickness and that their Educational Supervisor carries this out.
The Surgical Services care group is split across the central and northern campuses and comprises General Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Breast Surgery, Burns and Urology.
The General Surgery Directorate provides both elective (cancer and benign) and non-elective general surgery services for patients within South Yorkshire, North Trent, and nationwide. The Directorate is based at the Northern General site.
The Directorate of Plastic and Breast Surgery provides a comprehensive range of consultant led elective and non-elective plastic surgery, breast surgery, sarcoma surgery, and burn care services within South Yorkshire and has bases at the Northern General Hospital and Royal Hallamshire Hospital.
The Urology Directorate is based at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and is one of the largest and busiest units in the UK. The department provides a comprehensive general urology service to the City of Sheffield.
In addition, all 3 directorates provide comprehensive services for patients with cancer and the Care Group has a dedicated cancer pathway team which oversees the tracking of patients and pathways and provides admin support to all cancer MDTs.
