Job summary
HM Land Registry are looking to appoint an Infrastructure Engineer, within IT Security, as part of their IT Operations Practice. The IT Operations Practice is responsible for the performance and delivery of all technical infrastructure which underpins and supports the organisation.
The IT Security Team deliver a range of activities to support the implementation and compliance with HM Land Registry (HMLR) security policies. The team are responsible for the maintenance of information security controls across the organisation.
In this role you will perform routine administration tasks, product upgrades and installs. You will also support internal and external users with incident resolution, and resolve infrastructural issues.
Job description
Provide technical support for maintenance of IT Infrastructure and platforms, as part of a wider Infrastructure Engineering community.
Represent your specialism on relevant projects and programmes, providing advice and guidance to ensure services are developed in a supportable design
Plan and manage technical changes related to your IT Operations specialism.
Take responsibility for assimilating and developing own knowledge base, keeping up to date with emerging technologies
Pro-actively support live services. Taking the responsibility for the resolution of live incidents or escalation, as appropriate.
Support continuous enhancements to live services and systems to prevent service outage.
Implement technology to ensure non-functional requirements and service levels can be achieved
Work with the delivery practice to construct and maintain realistic estimates and plans for Infrastructure deliverables
Act as a technical role model and leader within the IT Operations Practice and associated areas
Share knowledge and experience with others, in line with the continuous improvement agenda and to help build capability within the IT Operations Practice.
Maintain software to support and enhance the security operation.
Maintain procedures for access definition recovery, including disaster procedures.
HMLR believe that a blended approach to where you work that enables some time working from home, as well as in the office may give you an improved experience and has clear business benefits, therefore we expect everyone to spend at least 60% of their working time in the office.
Please note you will be required to work a minimum of 30 hours per week.
Where an individual taking up the responsibility will be based in Swansea Office, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.

Person specification
This role requires Security Clearance so you will require a minimum of 5 years residency in the UK.
You will hold a qualification in Information Technology OR a related area (Degree Level of equivalent) OR experience in an IT field.
You will be able to demonstrate experience in evidence of high level planning and managing technical change, be an effective communicator who has the ability to interact and build strong working relationships with both engineers and all stakeholders across the organisation. You will be able to evidence technical information gathering, analysis and problem solving.
You will meet the below Technical Skills and qualifications:
Experience in the use of Windows Server 2012 or newer version
Experience in one of the following:
Active Directory and Group Policy
Windows server/NTFS Security
Cloud Infrastructure Security
Experience in at least two of the following:
ADFS
Powershell
Threat and Vulnerability Management
DDoS and WAF
Azure AD/Entra
Technical skills
We'll assess you against these technical skills during the selection process:
Holds a qualification in Information Technology or a related area (Degree Level or equivalent) or experience in an IT field.
Experience in the use of Windows Server 2012 or newer version.
Experience in one of: o Active Directory and Group Policy o Windows server/NTFS Security o Cloud Infrastructure Security
