The opportunity
Working to the Networks and Telephony Manager, within the D&T Technology directorate, and alongside stakeholders both within D&T and across the wider university; Infrastructure Networks Specialist within Infrastructure will be responsible for delivering advanced specialist end to end support, solution and design, management, maintaining the network services, ensuring operational efficiency, stability, security and assisting the infrastructure team within and across the teams.
Meet services area requirements and ensuring the business priorities are met. This role will deliver fulfillment of implementing and delivering network infrastructure service road-maps, innovation and continual service improvement plans ensuring that UAL has the right capacity, capability, and culture in place to deliver industry leading infrastructure networks intrinsic to strategic objectives of UAL.
About you
- 10+ years of Engineering experience in a predominately Cisco Environment
- Must be CCIE certified and ideally working towards specialism
- In depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing and switching and proficient use, configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco Networking Protocols BGP, OSPF, EIGRP
- Solid understanding of network operating systems (Cisco IOS)
- Must have strong proven and confidence working with Cisco Catalyst 6K through 9K and Cisco Wireless Controller 9K
- Strong knowledge and experience in WAN, and LAN technologies including VLANs, STP, 802.1x, Switch stacking, VSS, VRRP
