WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking to appoint a manager who will work within the Innovation and Entrepreneurship team. The successful candidate will have a key role to play through both business development activities and operational management, to assist us in the delivery of our strategic mission, resulting in measurable benefits/results for the Body and the businesses and stakeholders we work with.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a senior member of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Team, externally you will have a responsibility in ensuring InterTradeIreland is appropriately positioned in the wider economic support ecosystem on the island, whilst also working directly with all business sectors, helping them to maximise collaborative innovation, and Entrepreneurship and/or all island clustering opportunities.
You will strategically develop and manage collaborative Innovation and/or cluster programmes, that support SMEs to explore, plan and implement innovation to develop new products, services and processes and/or develop and promote SME participation in collaborative network/cluster activity through actively supporting cross border collaboration at scale between clusters and networks across the island.
You will be responsible for managing staff, budgets, organising events and stakeholder engagement activity and contracts, to deliver against InterTradeIreland’s objectives in multiple areas, including consideration of industry-academia collaboration, industry 4.0, digitalisation and sustainability.

THE IDEAL PERSON WILL HAVE:
- A third level qualification or equivalent professional qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years’ management experience in business/economic development including developing strategic initiatives or new business activities.
- Proven track record of successfully developing and delivering complex work projects and applying continuous improvement based on an understanding of emerging trends or technologies with demonstrable skill in setting performance milestones, targets and budgets.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience of proactively managing and effectively leading a team of reports, able to plan and organise work to achieve results within tight deadlines, focusing on priorities and objectives with a clear sense of direction.
- Financial management experience including budget building, forecasting and monitoring of complex annual budgets of scale.
- The ability to build, influence, negotiate and maintain effective relationships with a range of both internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to engage and enthuse the target audience.
