SalaryOur client is a leading NHS organisation which has an opportunity for an experienced Financial Accountant to join the team to provide support for six months while the current post holder is seconded to another project.
Working with the Head of Financial Services, this position will be responsible for drawing together key aspects of the reporting, including the timely provision of financial schedules and data to ensure accuracy, looking after fixed assets, completing the organisation’s accounts to accounting standards, monitoring the cash position against plan, and managing a small team. Owing to the range of people you will be working with, you will need to form effective working relationships with a variety of contacts. The work will span a range of tasks from influencing others’ priorities to some hands-on technical work.
You should be a qualified Financial Accountant, or equivalent, with a well versed technical understanding and appreciation of the NHS financial regime. Strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of financial systems, ideally eFinancials, will be important. You will need to demonstrate a keen understanding of the monthly reporting process and have an appreciation of the pressures that apply at key deadlines. First-rate prioritisation and communication skills will also be important in the scheduling of the team’s work.
This will be a challenging and busy role, but is likely to give you a strong overview of the organisation and should prove satisfying work to the right individual.
