We are delighted to be supporting a national health charity with the recruitment of an interim year-end accountant to lead and manage the year-end process.
Reporting into the Head of Finance, you will be responsible for leading the year-end close to full audit preparation and regulatory reporting for the charity. You will project manage the process and lead on accounting queries and liaise directly auditors to ensure complainant and timely financial statements.
We are looking for a skilled year-end accountant with expertise in statutory reporting within a charities context and good understanding of charities SORP. The role will be required until at least June 2024 with 1 required in the office per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver the Year End process and be the main point of contact for auditors
- Design and maintain financial controls
- Ensure all balance sheets are fully reconciled on a monthly basis
- Completion of a timely month end process to trial balance stage, which includes a review of our monthly nominal activity report before month end close, providing systems reports for budget holders and monthly management accounts
- Responsible for Quarterly VAT Returns, management accounts for our Trading subsidiary and the reconciliation of the intercompany account with the Charity
Key Criteria
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent)
- Knowledge of Charity SORP
- Self starter
