Interim Financial Controller

Distribution Group based in Littlehampton, West Sussex, has a requirement for an Interim Financial Controller for a period of 6–9 months which has resulted as a result of an internal secondment.
What will the Interim Financial Controller role involve?

Reporting to the Finance Director, the key responsibilities of the Interim Financial Controller will include:

• Day–to–day ownership of all accounting activities, including sales and purchase ledger, accruals and prepayments, and other accounting entries;
• Lead month end and yea rend close processes, including presenting results to Finance team before closing the month;
• Manage the Accounts Payable and expenses team, ensuring accurate and timely payments, as well as completion of monthly supplier reconciliations and driving compliance with company policies;
• Drive robust controls, working across the Finance team to ensure appropriate controls are in place and functioning well;
• Lead preparation for, and management of, external audit and preparation of financial statements;
• Ensuring balance sheet accounts are fully reconciled each month and lead monthly balance sheet review with Finance Director;
• Prepare fiscal and regulatory returns, including VAT and Corporation Tax;
• Support Global Treasury through preparation of cash flow forecasts.

Suitable Candidate for the Interim Financial Controller vacancy:

• Applicants for the role will ideally hold a full accountancy qualification and have experience of undertaking a similar position;
• The successful candidate will be available at short notice;
• Previous exposure to Dynamics 365 would be highly beneficial and in particular experience of implementing the system.
