Interim Head of Service/Senior Operational Manager - Adult Social Care
Rate: Inside IR35 – please advise what daily rate you are seeking
Duration: 6 - 12 months
Hybrid working model with a requirement for on-site presence up to 3 days a week
We are seeking an Interim Head of Service/Senior Operational Manager to join our client on an initial contract basis of 6-12 months. This role is expected to be full-time, with potential for 2-3 positions to be available.
The primary objective of this role is to provide support in day-to-day operations while enabling the existing Head of Service to focus on project work. The role may require managing multiple areas within Adult Social Care, with a focus on performance management, achieving savings targets, and ensuring efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and guidance to ensure smooth day-to-day operations within Adult Social Care
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimise processes and workflows
- Oversee and implement strategies to enhance service delivery efficiency
- Support the existing Head of Service in project-related tasks as required
- Assist in project planning, execution, and evaluation as needed
- Supervise and support staff within the assigned areas of responsibility
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members
- Develop and implement performance management strategies to achieve savings targets
- Monitor performance metrics and take corrective actions as necessary
- Oversee safeguarding procedures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Act as a point of contact for safeguarding concerns and escalate issues appropriately
- Manage and optimise hospital discharge pathways to facilitate timely and safe discharges
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and service providers to improve discharge processes
- Provide support and guidance to constituency social work teams as needed
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in a senior operational management role within Adult Social Care or related field
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities
- Proven track record in performance management and achieving targets
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation
- Experience in managing hospital discharge pathways is desirable
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and environments
