Reed HR are working alongside a large Education Establishment based in West London who are recruiting for a HR Manager on a temporary basis for initially 4 months.
This role is hybrid, so travel into the office will be required.
SUMMARY:
The Temporary HR Manager leads the day-to-day operational activities of the HR Department whilst a new HR system is being implemented. Key responsibilities include: providing generalist HR advice and guidance in line with current legislation, relevant HR policies, and the University’s mission and strategic objectives; overseeing the full recruitment cycle; ensuring implementation of contractual and other changes across the employee lifecycle; administering pay and benefits; managing visa sponsorship, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and UK regulatory requirements.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Work closely with Academic Schools and professional service departments to provide generalist HR advice and guidance to managers and employees on a wide range of human resource management issues, such as recruitment, performance management, and resolve complex employee relations issues;
- Manage the full recruitment life cycle to recruit high quality academic and professional service staff, including drafting job descriptions and advertisements, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates;
- Ensure that the day-to-day HR operations are carried out efficiently and to highest standards, such as benefits administration, starters and leavers procedures, contract preparation, and end of employment arrangements;
- Analyse and report HR statistical data to support effective business decisions;
- Prepare reports for the Executive/University Board as required on issues such as staff recruitment and turnover, market salary comparisons;
- Work on all aspects of disciplinary and grievance management, supporting managers and employees in the process;
- keep up-to-date with employment legislation and UK regulatory requirements e.g. UKVI, Data Protection Act 1998, and Disclosure and Barring Service;
- Represent the HR Department on appropriate Committees and working groups;
- Develop and implement improvements to systems and procedures to enhance the HR operations and services;
- Participate in the development and delivery of training and development;
- Adhere to and promote the companies health and safety policies and procedures;
- Undertake special projects as assigned by the Director of Human Resources.
