GEMS (Global Energy Management and Sales) is one of the global business units of ENGIE. Energy Management UK develops GEMS’ activities in the UK and Ireland.
Role:
We are seeking an Intern to join the Energy Management UK team. The Intern will support Energy Market Analysts to deliver improvements to models and processes providing an excellent opportunity to commence a career close to the energy transition.
Main Responsibilities:
We are seeking a motivated, numerate, commercially driven Intern to join our team for a period of 6 to 12 months commencing soon. We welcome applicants with:
A mathematical background
An ability to undertake research and deliver the results concisely
Intermediate to advanced coding capability
High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
A strong interest in the energy sector and market dynamics.
The successful candidate will:
Support Energy Market Analysts in their day to day activities
Work with Energy Market Analysts to code improvements to existing models and make recommendations for new models
Share regular market insights with the wider team
Contribute to various projects and initiatives within the Energy Market Analysis team.
Education and professional background:
The successful candidate is likely to have completed at least 2 years of their numerical degree with the intent to return to their studies following this internship, however we will also welcome applicants who have completed their studies and are seeking their first real experience in the energy sector.
Other considerations:
Fluent in English (written, spoken and understanding);
Success with Python, experienced in version control and pipeline management;
Preference will be given to candidates with a Right to Work in the UK
The role is based in London, close to Liverpool Street
