The Internal Communications Manager is a new role, and will play a critical role in fostering effective communication within Leeds Bradford Airport. This position is responsible for developing and implementing internal communication strategies to engage employees, enhance organisational culture, and ensure that key messages are effectively disseminated throughout the airport community. The Internal Communications Manager will collaborate with various departments to ensure effective flow of information throughout the organisation.

Snapshot of the role:

The role sits within our fantastic HR department, operating across the whole airport. The main aspects of the role are: -

Internal Communication Strategy:

Develop and execute comprehensive internal communication strategies aligned with the LBA’s overall strategy.

Identify key messages and create engaging content to be shared across various internal communication channels.

Content Creation and Management:

Produce clear, concise, and compelling content for internal communication materials, including newsletters, emails, and other relevant platforms.

Ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all internal communication channels.

Employee Engagement:

Work collaboratively with the HR team and other stakeholders to implement initiatives to foster employee engagement and a sense of community within LBA.

Organise and manage internal events, workshops, and employee forums to encourage open communication and feedback.

Change Communication:

Collaborate with HR and other departments to develop communication plans for organisational changes, ensuring employees are well-informed and supported during transitions.

Communication Tools and Platforms:

Oversee the maintenance and improvement of internal communication tools to ensure all LBA colleagues can be easily informed.

Stay updated on emerging communication technologies and recommend improvements to enhance internal communication effectiveness.

Feedback and Measurement:

Establish mechanisms for gathering feedback from employees and use insights to continuously improve internal communication strategies.

Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of internal communication initiatives.

Collaboration and Liaison:

Maintain alignment with the Marketing department for consistency in messaging and brand

Work closely with various departments, including front operations, human resources, and executive leadership, to understand communication needs and align strategies with organizational goals.

What we are looking for:

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record in Internal Communications, ideally within a complex organisational setting such as an airport or large corporation. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are a must, along with strong project management abilities to handle multiple priorities and deadlines effectively. Familiarity with communication tools and technologies is expected, and the ability to collaborate and build positive relationships across all levels of the organisation is essential. A Bachelor���s degree in communications, public relations, or a related field is desirable. Additionally, an understanding of aviation industry dynamics and regulatory environments would be advantageous.
