Internal Communications Officer (HEO)
Contract: 12 Months
Salary: 19.76 per hour
Location: Westminster, London
Remote Work Setting
This is a temporary contract role until January 2025 for an Internal Communications Officer role with an immediate start date (SC Clearance dependant) for a 12-month duration offering a remote setting and a central London location (Westminster).
Internal Communications Officer
UKEF aspires to have the most engaged workforce in the Civil Service. The Internal Communications Officer will play a crucial role in supporting staff engagement, helping to ensure that our people are fully informed on the department and its objectives, supporting the visibility of senior leadership, and importantly sharing the information staff need to do their jobs. In the role, you will apply best practice communications insight, ideas, implementation and impact assessment to deliver engaging communications for a captive internal audience.
We are looking for someone who can support the Senior Internal Communications Officer to consistently deliver proven results in line with departmental priorities. Working with senior-level stakeholders, you will use your creativity and an insight-driven approach to help create and deliver innovative, targeted campaigns to support employee engagement programmes. This post works very closely with the CEO, Head of Resources and Executive Committee, as well as wider senior management, on their Internal Communications approach so experience of working with senior leadership is beneficial.
Main Activities
o Support the Senior Internal Communications Officer to develop UKEF's Internal Communications Strategy, implementing Internal Communications plans and campaigns throughout the year to deliver the objectives set out.
o Develop UKEF's Internal Communications channels and delivery and implement new approaches to constantly improve their impact.
o Plan and deliver a balanced schedule of Internal Communications activity to engage UKEF colleagues and keep them informed on what is happening across the department.
o Help develop a regular series of internal events, including the annual all-staff conference, working with key stakeholders and the CEO.
o Write or commission internal news content, liaising with appropriate and senior managers across the organisation to ensure the maintenance of rigorous communications standards.
o Manage and enhance the UKEF intranet, acting as a content lead, responsible for managing a network of content owners across UKEF.
o Support transformation and change communications campaigns, working closely with the Digital, Data and Technology Group.
o Support UKEF's staff networks, diversity and inclusion, and health and wellbeing teams to promote a positive working culture at UKEF.
o Help manage and evaluate Internal Communications channels, measuring their impact through a range of analytics and dashboards.
o Build strong working relationships with the DBT communications, marketing and digital teams to ensure effective collaborative working.
o Work with colleagues across UKEF and DBT to ensure that Internal Communications initiated from other services are effective and in line with the organisational messages.
