We are supporting a tight-knit data-focused IT consultancy who has a new opening for an Internal Product Manager. You will be working directly with the Head of Product and will take ownership of the full Internal Product function. This dynamic business has developed a relatively new product function within the business which covers both service enhancements and internal improvements. This role will focus on internal improvements, aiming to improve customer experience for their partners and end customers as well as streamline internal operations. We are looking for a blend of technical ability with commercial acumen. You will have full ownership of the internal improvement roadmap and the responsibility of task creation and sprint management. This opportunity is ideal for someone that thrives in an environment where collaboration and implementing feedback loops are of high priority. As well as working with external stakeholders where necessary, gathering requirements and building user stories from internal stakeholders will be one of the most important aspects of this role.
Responsibilities for an Internal Product Manager:
Roadmap Development
* Develop and own the internal improvement roadmap, outlining strategic initiatives to enhance internal operational efficiency and improve the experience for customers and partners.
* Work closely with the Head of Product and Leadership to prioritize and sequence projects based on business impact and resource availability.
Development Team Management
* Attend daily stand-ups to ensure developers are on track and tasks are scoped correctly.
* Manage sprint creation and hold fortnightly retrospective meetings with the Head of Product to uncover areas for improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Collaborate with various internal teams, including Leadership, Operations & Support, Sales, and Marketing, to gather requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
* Facilitate communication and alignment between different departments to ensure a unified approach to process enhancements.
Define Requirements
* Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to gather and define clear and concise requirements for process improvements and system enhancements.
* Research best tools for operational enhancements and present findings back to Leadership and the Head of Product with both a cost analysis and alignment of the selected tools with company objectives.
* Translate business needs into actionable user stories and acceptance criteria for development teams.
* Proactively identify areas for continuous improvement and implement changes where necessary.
Project Execution
Lead project execution from task creation to completion, ensuring timely delivery in line with the internal improvement roadmap.
Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks to project extension and clearly communicating any delays back to relevant internal stakeholders.
Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of internal processes and customer experience.
Backlog Management
* Maintain and prioritize the product backlog based on business value and customer feedback.
