Our client is a well-respected International Food Group with many popular food brands bought every day in the UK. Having grown organically and acquisitively over the last 5 years the business boasts an impressive structure and customer profile across Grocery, Foodservice, Convenience, Online and International.
Within the International team there is now a new position for a talented hungry International Account Manager to join and help expand their branded presence around the globe and help develop profitable own label business with key partners. Key aspects of the role include.
- Manage existing customers and win new business in designated territories.
- Support the development of existing & new trading relationships in all contact points for long-term commercial benefit.
- Positively contribute to the overall direction and success of the Channel.
Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership and management of Specified territory P&L’s.
- Management of Intercompany sales
- Maintain customer P&Ls + identify & maximise commercial opportunities within agreed financial parameters.
- Negotiate customer terms
- Develop long-term customer partnerships through joint business plans.
- Own and drive a contact strategy that nurtures relationships and builds a strong network of key head office & field-based contacts – internal and external.
- Work with & support the Senior International Business Manager and International Business Manager in developing & implementing strategic plans and sector specific initiatives.
- Employ a leadership approach to the category when in dialogue with customers and contacts.
- Monitor and evaluate personal progress against KPIs, objectives and commercial priorities.
- Develop and maintain professional and efficient working relationships with all internal functions.
- Contribute to the team’s performance, identity and culture through full commitment to business development and personal development.
Key experience required
- Experience of working in the International channel – essential
- Experience of working within an FMCG environment
- Ideally degree educated or evidence of strong academics
- P&L Comprehension
- Ability to negotiate & agree terms and secure incremental activity
- Business forecasting skills
- Prepared to travel worldwide for customer and Head Office meetings
- Good level of sales and account management experience
- Can build strong relationships quickly.
- Be innovative in your approach to develop new ways of winning.
- Demonstrate good time management and communication skills.
- Understand levels of personal accountability in delivering and exceeding targets.
