Job Purpose
Responsible for UKIB’s data and information architecture, and its alignment to the broader Information Governance Frameworks and IT Strategy which supports the Bank’s wider strategy.
Core Accountabilities:
- Define, develop, and maintain the data and information architecture and assure delivery of UKIB’s data and information roadmap.
- Ensure alignment of the data and information architecture roadmap with IT operations and security roadmaps as well as key corporate initiatives such as strategic banking.
- Assure the information governance framework including policies, standards, and procedures for information management appropriate for a financial services organisation.
- Ensure that senior-level stakeholders across the bank information management needs are clearly articulated to optimise the data and information architecture of the bank.
- Provide reliable, stable, secure, and responsive data and information architecture services that meet the needs and risk acceptance profile of the bank.
- Assure the data operations dimension within the Bank’s wider operational resilience framework, including information life cycle management plans.
- Assure controls to monitor and automate data protection and information security across the bank’s technology estate.
- Assure the continuous improvement of the data platform, validating that the bank has a single source of trusted data to support operations and decisions.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
Technical
Essential
- Demonstrable experience of designing and building data platforms, reporting frameworks, data governance and data transfer solutions.
- Relationship management, including demonstrable experience of representing IT with C-Suite, Senior Management colleagues and 3rd party Service Providers.
- Experience of building and managing information management architecture to deliver organisation wide services.
- Strategic mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to articulate complex solutions in a business context.
- Strong commitment to delivering excellent service with an attention to detail.
- Demonstrable experience of operating effectively in a challenging delivery focused environment containing blended teams (e.g., permanent, contract, vendor, managed service providers and systems integrators)
- Defining and implementing an information management framework within a Bank including data protection controls, data quality, data transfer and data sharing management.
- Data Architecture experience assuring data designs, solution procurement and data privacy impact assessments.
- Working knowledge of cyber security practices and experience of assuring applications and solutions against information security requirements.
- Working knowledge of data protection legislation and experience of implementing it across an organisation’s data estate.
Desirable
- Cabinet Office Code of Practice.
- Good knowledge of TOGAF, DAMA and Agile frameworks.
- Good knowledge of data modelling techniques including conceptual and logical.
- Understanding of broader Change Management principles, practices, and methodologies.
